HOW IT WORKS
When it comes to exfoliation, the most important thing is balance. Excessive daily use of AHAs often leads to sensitization and even premature skin aging as the skin loses its ability to self-repair. PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) consist of larger molecules than AHAs and BHAs, therefore PHAs do not penetrate the skin as deeply and exfoliate only the uppermost layers of the skin surface. For this reason, PHAs are ideal for sensitive skin, because everyone deserves effective daily exfoliation without compromising the health and function of the skin barrier. 

Gluconolactone is a highly effective PHA that breaks down the glue between dead skin cells and also deeply hydrates the skin thanks to its hydrophilic properties. This ensures fresh and comfortable skin after each application. Gluconolactone breaks the bonds between dead cells so they can be easily exfoliated; this helps to improve skin texture, texture and tone, and restore the skin's natural radiance.
