Active Ingredients:

• 1% Granactive Retinoid (hydroxypinacolone retinoate) - a highly effective ester of retinoic acid that possesses the power of retinol without sensitization and with excellent stability. This component belongs to the next generation of retinoids. It is sometimes referred to as hydroxypinacolone retinoate or HPR. It is milder than retinol. This is because Granactive Retinoid combined with a solvent improves absorption and skin tolerance. Therefore, the likelihood of irritation or redness is reduced even at higher concentrations. Compared to other types of retinoids, Granactive Retinoid is a synthetic ester of retinoic acid. Upon absorption, it metabolizes into both retinol and retinoic acid. This means that there is no need to wait for retinol to convert, as skin cells can absorb it immediately. As a result, you will be able to enjoy the numerous skin-enhancing benefits much sooner.

• 0.05% Retinal (also known as retinaldehyde) - behaves similarly to the more well-known retinol but is much more stable and effective. When the body does not use vitamin A, it is stored in skin cells in the form of retinyl esters. When the skin is ready for vitamin A metabolism, these esters convert into retinol and then into retinaldehyde, before finally becoming retinoic acid, which the skin uses. That’s why all forms of vitamin A, including retinol and retinal, need to be converted into retinoic acid before they start to work. Retinol must be metabolized to retinal and then to retinoic acid, while retinal requires only one conversion to retinoic acid. Importantly, the final step occurs extremely quickly compared to the previous conversions, which is why retinal can provide such rapid results (up to 11 times faster) than retinol. Additionally, this component has a much higher exfoliation rate than retinol, which helps reduce skin roughness and increase dermal thickness, collagen strength, and the appearance of new collagen fibers.
